The magic ingredient in any successful company is the team behind the scenes. We value our wonderful team above anything else in our business and wanted you to get to know them a bit better too. We took time out to chat to the design team who told us why they love their jobs and what led them to becoming interior designers - with a few of their trade secrets thrown in too!

What made you want to be an interior designer? I have always loved interiors and had a childhood obsession wanting to endlessly re-design my room. I always had an instinct that this was what I wanted to do and I am very glad I followed my dreams.

Where did you study? I came th2designs to complete a three month internship and at the time I was thinking about going back to college to study interiors but Sheila and Gail who are both self taught encouraged me to learn as I go and grow with th2designs.

What is your interior style? I am drawn to a tonal colour palette and organic finishes.

What made you want to work at th2designs? It’s a really exciting and fast paced company that keeps evolving so every day is different. Our ethos here is to always be friendly and approachable to everyone we encounter as well as each other

What has been your most rewarding project so far? Last year we completed 64 luxury apartments in Central London. We worked with this with the client for over two years and saw the building from the very beginning through to completion. It was a real success and a true team effort.

What are your hobbies? Living in London I am always exploring, we have some amazing markets to rummage through and the shopping is amazing.

Where are your secret shopping places? I love Pimlico Green - if you like interiors it’s the place for you.

What made you want to be an interior designer? I have always been creative and loved producing my own pieces of art. I was brought up in a very creative household and that has rubbed off on me and how I see my every day life, which has now rolled into my professional life too.

Where did you study? I did a fine art degree which led to me discovering my other great passion alongside art was interior design.

What made you want to work at th2designs? Our relaxed luxury style is really well known in the industry alongside the super friendly and approachable team I work with everyday - who wouldn’t want to work here?

What has been your most rewarding project so far? I am currently working on a beachside house for a returning client which is incredible. They have great taste and as we have worked with them before they trust us completely which is really rewarding . They wanted to be quite experimental with this project and that is always fun!

What are your hobbies?  Painting is my passion and I create my own personal artwork which we often end up using on our projects at work. I am also a born traveller.

Where are your secret shopping places? Being an eclectic fan I do love a good old car boot sale, you never know what treasures you might find.

What made you want to be an interior designer? Initially I was drawn to the making and functionality of furniture. The shapes that furniture can create in a space really excites me and this led me to the world of interior design

Where did you study? I studied furniture and product design at university

What is your interior design style? I like the tailored lines of a more “masculine” design.

What made you want to work at th2designs? The company has a great reputation in the industry so I knew it would be a good starting point for my career. I have learnt so much in the 4 years I have been on the design team.

What has been your most rewarding project so far? I worked on a project in Chelsea converting a building from an office to a town house. It was my first project that included a lot of build work and I really enjoyed the challenge.

What are your hobbies? I love challenging myself in the kitchen with a bit of cooking. I am also a runner and find that time out in the fresh air gives me headspace to think about my projects for the week.

Where are your secret shopping places? There is nothing more inspiring than wandering down Pimlico Road, window shopping . The furniture shops are incredible and we have just finished a project round the corner so I have had the excuse to get a regular dose of inspiration on my way to and from the job.

What made you want to be an interior designer? It was a career change from being a city lawyer! I wanted to do something creative and I was drawn to the fact that there is a finished physical space at the end of a project which has the ability to affect the way people feel and live - that’s really exciting and inspiring for me.

Where did you study? I first studied English Literature at Durham University, then law in London, finally I studied interior design at KLC School of Design.

What is your interior design style? I love colour and pattern like to mix and match different styles to create a bold eclectic look.

What made you want to work at th2designs? I originally started working at Taylor Howes Designs (our sister company) nearly ten years ago working at the high end of the luxury interior design industry. I started doing work experience and worked my way up. When I returned from my maternity leave I followed Gail and Sheila to help grow th2designs.

What has been your most rewarding project so far? We were bought in to work on a multi million pound house in Cadogan Square which had failed to sell despite being on the market for nearly 2 years. After our work was completed the house was transformed and it was immensely satisfying that it then sold for the asking price within three months of going back on the market.

What are your hobbies? Yoga, pilates, running, going to the theatre and art galleries and I have recently started attending an acting course as well.

Where are your secret shopping places? Covent garden flower market - it’s an early start but definitely worth it to add that finishing touch to a photo shoot.
